San Francisco

California has had drought for 4 years.
It chose to rain the one day we visited!
Good for the trees (the estimated tree death is 66 million) but not for our open but tour!
Its not an outing of the KKK its the plastic ponchos we were given to keep us dry. ..they failed :0)
In China town the rain stopped so we got off the bus and had a few hours shoppping and eating.
Off to Sacramento today....Houston and Louisiana tomorrow.

Grand Canyon day one

Here we are!
Just us two and the GC!

We also saw a male Elk wallowing by the road side....we have much better pics than this...but they are on the other camera, this was the best the phone would do.
We wondered why cars were stopped at the road side all these people with their cameras....then we saw him...magnificent.

Arriving at Grand Canyon

Desert view watch tower.
Unfortunately (or not) tower was closed for repair.......but heres the view from the ground, at roughly 7000 feet above sea level.

Its THE GRAND CANYON !!

Tick off bucket list !!

Tuba City to G. Canyon

We get to spend the whole morning in Tuba City....one home of the Navajo.
We ate in Navajo restaurant last night, and this morning we visited the museum.
Its a very rich, but sad and cruel history...and then after all the settlers did to them....they volunteered to be "coders" in WW2.....they passed messages in Navajo as it was quicker than code, but completely incomprehensible to the Japanese.
